About Me

Having lived with an abusive partner for 5 years, experiencing all types of abuse, I have a passion to support others to recover from this abuse. I have over 10 years of counselling experience; over 8 years delivering the Freedom Programme; been a member and now chair the West Suffolk Domestic Abuse Forum , for the last 7 years . I have worked in the areas of domestic abuse, substance misuse and mental health.

I also run a private counselling practice for the last 11 years. I have three grown up children and one grandchild. I enjoy spending time with family and friends.

About My Project

Alumah was birthed from personal experience and professional expertise. Awareness of the lack of services in the geographical area, for domestic abuse victims.

Since Alumah was created we have expanded the age range that we work with and now have 3 streams; 7- 11yrs; 12-24yrs and adults. We offer group work, 1:1 support, counselling, signposting and are developing training opportunities for professionals and churches.
We are a Christian based charity, with our roots (trustees) firmly in scripture.
