About Me
I am a dreamer and entrepreneur, married to Ollie, living in Greater Manchester. I have a deep love and appreciation of all things old – film, music, furniture – and people! I am CEO for Silver Cord Ministries, an Ambassador for Faith in Later Life and have a BA in Third Age Mission and Ministry. I am passionate about envisioning others on issues related to ageing, mobilising mission to and with older people, speaking at conferences and churches nationally, and writing articles.
About My Project
Silver Cord is an inter-church befriending project in East Manchester. We partner with local churches and recruit, train and support volunteers to deliver weekly befriending in the community. We work closely with Adult Services, Social Prescribers and the Police.
We also launched our first Silver Cord Hub in November 2023 (The Living Room) – a 1970’s themed lounge serving cheap refreshments, selling retro clothes, but mostly – a space to hang out, connect, do jigsaws and play board games in a welcoming space led by church volunteers.
