About Me
My name is Debbie Harvie. I bring over 20 years of leadership, governance, and consultancy experience across the charity, faith-based, and community sectors, underpinned by professional qualifications and specialist training. My work combines strategic expertise with lived experience of overcoming trauma and vulnerability, giving me both the technical skill and empathy to help organisations strengthen their mission and safeguard their people. I’m passionate about building healthy, values-driven cultures where purpose and people; action and accountability thrive together.
About My Project
Across the third sector, there’s extraordinary passion — but beneath it there are signs of strain and pain that we cannot afford to ignore.
In September 2025, Charity Jobs reported that 85% of charity workers have experienced vicarious trauma and in 2024-25, there were 303 governance failing reported to Charity Commission, that’s double from the previous year.
Strong missions deserve strong practice. That’s why I started Mission Impact: to help SME leaders of charities, churches, and community organisations build governance, resilience, and safety into everything they do.
Through Mission Impact, I provide a range of light touch and deep dive auditing, consultancy and training that equips leaders with the tools, frameworks, and confidence they need to lead with integrity, resilience, and effectiveness.
My work spans six key areas:
• Governance & Accountability
• Risk & Strategy
• Data Protection & Information Governance
• Safeguarding & Safe Practice
• Spiritual & Psychological Safety
• Mission Alignment & Effectiveness
By addressing these interconnected areas, Mission Impact helps organisations strengthen the structures and culture that make their mission sustainable.
The goal is simple: to help leaders increase their missional impact by building safe, strategic, and sustainable organisations.
